Remote Shutdown in Windows with problems

Post by c_schmitz »

Hello!

We use UltraVNC (RC11) for administation of our servers standing in a server rooms some miles away. However sometimes there is a fundamental problem. If the machine got unstable (bceause of a program eating up memory) we are remote-rebooting server too.

The problem is that the VNC service is the first one that is knocked out and if there is a program that is hanging for some reaon and blocking the shutdown procedure (you know when this messagebox appears 'Porgram is not reacting...Click here to close the program') we have no way of accessing the server even it would be only one mouseclick to continue the shutdown.

Is there any way this could be fixed in UltraVNC? Its a great program and its the only thing that is really bothering us.

Maybe someone does know a workaround to fix this?

Thank you
