vncviewer /listen on Linux
vncviewer /listen on Linux
I have been using SC for a while under XP, which worked great. Fantastic job on that!! Now, I have decided to make the switch to Linux.
Is it possible to get a Linux viewer in listen mode so I can do remote support to win clients?
I have tried to start vncviewer /listen in a shell and it appears to accept connections (as it shows that a valid connection has been made), but I cannot seem to get the graphical window to pop up.
I am using Mepis with KDE, UltraVNC SC for the remote clients and tried various different viewers. Is there one specific that I should use under Linux?
Thanks!

RFB = Remote Frame Buffer, the protocol used between all VNC flavor !This goes beyond me. Can you elaborate?
SC work only on windows because there removed RFB protocol and need the special Ultra vncviewer can understand the SingleClick
winvnc send a special paquet request to viewer accept or refuse the incoming connection.
there a little confusion for users if winvnc name of SingleClick (winvncsc) don't support the RFB protocol !

linux vncviewer to ultravnc server
I have been able to get this scenario to work.
using tightvnc: vncviewer -listen -encodings "hextile copyrect"
This command string finally allowed the graphic window to successfully complete drawing and a vnc session was established; worked fine.
I've tried to run the ultravnc vncwiewer under wine; it does run, but I cannot start with the /listen parameter.
