Hello,
I'm trying to use DynDNS to access my home PC from work, using VNC. The firewall at work blocks all outgoing ports except 22 and 80, and my ISP blocks all incoming ports below 1024. So, I've been trying to use DynDNS.com's URL redirect feature to redirect a normal web access to <RedirectURL>:80 to <MyPCAddressURL>:5900. This should allow me to get through my work firewall, and still be able to connect to the VNC server port. My PC's web address <MyPCAddressURL>: is also dynamically assignerd by DynDNS.com.
Is the <RedirectURL> a fake address, or do I also have to register it to my machine's IP address, similar to <MyPCAddressURL>? How do I fill in the fields on the DynDNS site? I'm getting confused because the explanation at the DynDNS site is not very good.
Many thanks,
Paul

Has anyone used VNC with DNS web redirect?
I think you'll find the DynDNS redirect isn't going to work for this purpose. URL Redirecting only gives special instructions to your browser, it does not provide a proxy for every packet.
I can't think of any solution that wouldn't involve a less restrictive third party machine that would either do port forwarding or proxying.

Thanks Redge, I'll look into using HTTPort.
