how many open ports needed for mode II? 1 or 2?

Post by viktor »

Hello,

i looked through some times the docs, and the forum, but sorry, i cannot get along with my installation.

i launched the repeater on a public ip, where the 1494 port open with a config of: listen: 1494, accept: 5500 port, mode II.

i setted up sc for repeater_public_ip:1494, ID:3333

i launch a viewer with repeater_internal_ip:5500, ID:3333

repeater logs the viewer and the server with id 3333, but nothing else happens. sometime an accept() message.

I thought that the listen port is for the outer messageing, and the accept port is for the inner messaging, and was happy that no port openings neccessary. but it does not work. if i do the same with internal ips, it works. so it looks like, both ports needs to be opened for the public, am i right? why?

thx for any help.

viktor,
Did you find my repeater 1.04 step by step.

This may help. You need to open 2 ports your port 5500 and your listening port 1494
