SC error reading Protocol Version though MS ISA Server

Post by Spirit05 »

Hi!

i have some problems to set up a connection through our ISA Server.

we use the normal SC (not SC III) from http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/addons/singleclick.html

the client (VNC server) setup is :

-connect globalip:11001 -noregistry

our internal setup is :

Our router in a 192.168.1.x subnet forwards the port 11005 to the ISA Server (10.10.6.x subnet)

ISA Server installed in Mixed Mode (Firewallclient, secure NAT and proxyconnection possible)

The ISA Server has a protocoldefinition : Allow Incoming Connections on Port 11005 and forward the Port to the Client (Viewer) IP in the same subnet

The Client (Viewer) is set up to listen ... vncviewer.exe -listen 11005
without the ISA Server everything works fine but with the ISA Server (and we have to use it) we get an error message on the Client(Viewer) after 20 sec:
Connection failed - Error reading Protocol Version

Possible causes:
- You've forgotten to sselect a DSMPlugin and the Server uses DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible (they use differnt RFB Protocols=
- Bad connection
... but it can't be, because without the ISA server it is working fine

So i guess i have to allow more ports than 11005 Incoming
maybe 11005 outgoing (that we've tried)
or another Port to response to the VNC Server to exchange the RFB protocols ???

so please, every response will be usefull

thx a lot

Spirit05

p.s. sorry for my english

in my knowledge,
you need to use SCIII for usage with proxy whatever the proxy name and not SC

SC<->proxy<->Repeater<->proxy<->viewer
