When I connect to the server computer (win2k uvnc 1.01) from my viewer computer (winxp uvnc 1.01) everything works fine... sometimes.
Other times, I can only click the Start Menu, Taskbar or System Tray. I can left and right click those areas.
Examples:
I can click on open program in the taskbar and the window will come up, but as soon as I try to click anything in that window it becomes a gray "background window" even though it is the foremost window.
Also, if I right click the UVNC server icon in the System Tray, the context menu will pop-up, but I cannot click anything in the menu... if I try, the menu just disappears as though I click something else.
This was happening with other VNC servers/viewers and I hoped that UVNC would be different, but it's suffering the same problem.
Any ideas out there? Thank you so much.

Hi Oacgo:
I have a similar problem where after I connect to a vnc server mouse clicks are recognized in one or two area (current window usually) but not in most other areas of the host computers screen area.
As a partial fix I have sometimes found that sending CTRL-ALT-DEL (on win2000) and clicking on the task manager button sometimes works. A clear symtom of the problem is that it takes TWO clicks to trigger the task manager to load from button where it should only take 1 click. However often after this I can click as normal in other windows and control properly.
This started happening a few weeks back I suppose. I have a hybrid vnc environment plain vnc, tightvnc, ultravnc. Recently started converting all to ultravnc - problems only started after beginning load ultravnc everywhere.
Unfortunately in the last couple of weeks I have experienced several sessions where I had to shut down and reconnect before I could control/regain control of a system.
Also XP systems behaviour seems to have changed - making problem worse. I used to I thought get a menu after hitting CTRL ALT DEL on XP systems but on some XP systems with ultravnc on them I now just get the task manager directly.
I have been suspicious of spyware or trojans but have done extensive checking and searching and not turned up anything significant.
I had thought it might be to do with fact I sometime vnc to one system and then vnc on to another system. But even if it is then ....... hey maybe I should be trying to report a bug ?
Anyway hope the ctrl alt del might help you get control back a bit.
If you have found any more info on your problem since October please pass that on to me too as I an looking for solutions too.
regards
ivor
