VNC with Proxy

I use UltraVNC as an application on my customer sites. No install, just run winvnc.exe from the directory. I use reverse connect for all sites. Works like a charm.
It does not however work when they are using a proxy to get out onto the internet.

Is there a way around this? or something I can do that will not have to include the IT person of the business I am working with? Sorry don't know much about Proxy.

It's designed precisely for that purpose. It does involve some batch scripts and a Web server, though. I'm sure you have both.

You will need an open port through your proxy such as 22 (SSH). You should at least have a handful of open ports at your workplace. SC requires that someone initiate the connection on the other side. If there's no one 'on the other side' (e.g. it's your own work PC and you're not at work) then you can use Reverse HTTP Starter.
