Using HTTP instead of 5900

Hello folks.
i like VNC an know it for more than 4 years now. Today i have seen UltraVNCSC (SingleClick) and the option to use a Repeater. Great but there is one important ting missing.

I'm normally behind a real firewall (not only a NAT Router)
and the system i want to control is also behint a Firewall.
So i need a repeater. Thats no problem, i can do that.

But I'm still looking for an option to use HTTP/HTTPS instead of port 5900. I know there are commercial products out(PCVisit, NetViewer etc)
Currently i'm investigating to use HTTPORT to tunnel VNC5900 over HTTP. but i would prefer to have a native implementation in UltraVNC. That would be gread.

VNC over HTTP

Post by Frank Carius »

Great stuff.
Even if its beta, its important to know, that you are on the right way :-)
It was funny, that searching to forum for for HTTP does not give a result. Maybe you should put a "currently in beta"-Page with such information to the web :-)

i'll play with the beta and give you feedback.

Thanks Frank

You can try using the SSH port 22. I use it in conjunction with some batch scripts and this program (Reverse HTTP Starter).

see VNC-Related products and look [topic=4454][/topic]

[mod=494,1128389069]policy of UltraVNC forum, removed url to commercial product and redirected to vnc-related products[/mod]
