SLOW DOWN - Why does this happen?
SLOW DOWN - Why does this happen?
Using a repeater I log onto my remote connection. I open Windows Explorer and select a folder, then select another folder, by the time I have done this process 5 or 6 times the remote session is going so slow it is near impossible to use. If I close the connection and log back in everything is fine till I repeat the above process. Could this be a memory leak?

I've somewhat experienced this myself.
I'll be using the Viewer (1.0.1) with either Server (1.0.1) or SC (1.0 test), and after about 3-5 minutes of clicking around, the screen freezes for about a minute. Then the transfer lights will come on and I'll get a screen update and everything will be fine for a minute or two with fast response times, until again everything freezes.
I want to stress that it is not just freezing between large screen updates. It's as much as just clicking a folder in Explorer. Typically this is instant, but after a few folders it slows to a crawl and I have to sit there and wait until it speeds back up.

I've experienced the exact same thing. It's especially noticable, as you said, when simply trying to right-click in explorer to get a context menu. Sometimes, I just give up and re-connect and things seem fine again.Ares wrote:I've somewhat experienced this myself.

I always thought this may just be network congestion, but if many people are seeing the same behaviour, perhaps there is something more to it...

Ok, everyone can do a step by step how to reproduce your issue ?
everyone had the same problem when repeater is in the middle
or happen same issue without repeater ?
test viewer 1.0.1 WLAN 54Mbit/s --> LAN 100 Mbits/s winvnc 1.0.1 xp sp2 us + repeater 1.01

- 1. open vncviewer beta 1.12 or 1.0.1 and connect to winvnc 1.0.1 with using repeater 1.04 mode I
- 2. right click some here in the windows of vnc server
the remote mice frozen fews seconds but local dot can be moved anyway
then wait ...wait... until frozen finished, you had control again until you use right click again...
