SC in Safe Mode upon a reboot

Post by Frankb »

Hello,

I am looking for a FREE solution for commercial use to reboot a workstation that I am controlling using SC version so that upon the reboot the system is in safe mode and it launches my custom SC client for me to be able to reconnect.

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. I have looked at the paid solution to do this however I am using this for a not for profit customer that has no money in their budget.

Thanks!

I have no idea .... perhaps you can make a [DIRECT] SC exe and place it in the user startup folder. That way it will connect directly when the computer starts up again. The only problem is if they user has a password on.

Is Remote Support Systems part of Advantig http://www.advantig.com or DualDesk http://www.dualdesk.com?

The websites look identical.

DualDesk is a product/service of Advantig Engineering but R.D.H LLC is not. Hopefully R.D.H. will resolve the source of the confusion soon.

BTW, some of the pics on their (R.D.H.) site have my happy little face beaming back at you... :D

No PgMoney is quite right. Apparently we were the victem of a, not so honest web developer. We have contracted a new designer and work has begun on a new site design. Sorry for the confusion.

I remember there was a script, possibly VBS, Or maybe just a batch file, that would do this. Unfortunately, it was pulled for some reason. I'd love to see that myself. Don't need anything fancy, just a way to reboot in safe mode. Considering Spyware is so 'popular', and safe mode is the best way to get rid of it, there should be a big demand for automatic rebooting into safe mode and reconnecting.

Does anyone by chance still have a copy of that script?

whether it was intended or not, i'm surprised phil money allows your site to stay up. you should either change it immediately or take your site down.

I have been so busy updating and improving RSS that I had to outsource the webpage creation. No need to get nasty about it.

The new website is almost finished and will go online very soon. I have already spoken with the people at Advantig, and they were understanding about it, so there is no reason for you to get your panties in bunch.

I outsourced the orriginal page and was ripped off, now I'm doing it again. Sorry for the misunderstanding to all.

Hi folks,

cheaha lets people use his software free for non-commercial use so it's really not as big a deal as it would be if it were a purely commercial site. Profits from DualDesk goes to charities anyway so a few days of website cloning isn't going to kill us.

Hello

Asking the question again =)

Is there any solution to start UltraVnc SC in Safe Mode upon a reboot before the loginscreen? Like the program above but i really don´t want to spend that money right now =) Need to test business for a while first and make the money so I can buy the Remote Support System software :-]

I understand where you are coming from. I have thought about looking into this myself. Being safemode... it will not be as simple as putting it in a startup group. You will have to lauch it throught windows differently, I am thinking making it a type of service upon reboot and then removing the service once disconnected or rebooted into normal mode.

I think RSS looks good, but being an only guy trying to do a startup, I can not swing the $$$ - there is another client called Remote Help Desk with different features (like voice chatting with the user if you want while you work on their system - the client file is only 300k) at the same price and allows you to make your own exes with IPS etc like RSS, but its in Delphi. I was having a hard time deciding between the two, but since its more of $ issue right now, I might start looking at getting sc to do what I need.

Might need some VB Scripting to achieve parts of this, but nearly everything we need is suppiled by windows already, it's just putting the puzzle together.

I say either we pull our resources together and start a new thread here or make one somehere else and get this thing more robust.

I am sure some would like for this SafeSC to disappear, I can not believe no one has replied to your post here thanking you for releasing it.

You have just gave us what many have been asking for, and close to what others charge $100's for.

I look foward to your next update.

Thanks for releasing it!
