HELP: Connection failed - Invalid protocol !
Hi,
Just wondering if someone can help me, I just can't figure out how to fix this problem!!!
Version: UltraVNC 1.0.1 (Latest)
O/S: Win2K SP4
Okay, I previously used RC18, which worked fine until one day it gave me a similar error to the above (picture). So I downloaded the latest version and tried install that. Same error popped up.
I uninstalled the RC18, and deleted the remaining folder in program files then installed 1.0.1.
I have tried uninstalling 1.0.1 and reinstall many MANY times.
I have tried cleaning the registry then reinstalling.
It's driving me insane, because I just can't get it to work. I have installed 1.0.1 on other machines at the same location and it worked flawlessly.
I don't use DSMPlugin, never have in the past, but I have tried just for the sake of it. It still give me a similar error, but with a "please check your DSMPlugin config...".
Can someone please help!
Much appreciated,
S.P.

I finally managed to fix it. Well I don't think it is properly fixed until I format or something.
Basically I enabled the DSMPlugin and generated a key then applied to the Server config. Then did the same for the viewer. It works, but it only worked if I don't use MSLogin1 or 2 on the Server config. I just use plain password, the second I try MSLogins it give me that stupid error.
Oh well, at least it works.
