Hi, guys,
Please see my topic as a VERY computer adept user recently...
[topic=3897][/topic]
I could not get viewer to work as the browse button to me suggested I should be able to get a ".vnc" file or a list of possible connections without having to enter them manually!
Surely you could have this in all the documentation and help files somewhere, or make the program work that way!
What is the problem?
PS - A great connector.... eventually! - just could be user-friendly for first users!
Best, Randall

I still feel as though I am missing out on some clear instruction on how to use this???.....
So I have managed to get it working, and ".vnc" file produced; but when I try to log on using this, "Authentication fails"
Any ideas?
Thanks, Randall

I am asking where vnc tells what ports it wants!
So how do I set "vnc" password? - I only get one option box when I startup?UltraVNC V1 MS Logon can't save password NOK
UltraVNC V1 VNC password save password OK
Thanks, Randall

depend how is started your VNC server, you have 2 possibiliy of password (can be same or different depending of your personal choice):So how do I set "vnc" password? - I only get one option box when I startup?
- vnc password is only one box, correct for VNC server as service system
- vnc password is only one box, correct for VNC server as user application
I just checked it work fineSo I have managed to get it working, and ".vnc" file produced; but when I try to log on using this, "Authentication fails"
I suggest you delete your "filename.vnc" and and recreate new one.

Hi,
The Simple answer I needed, which was unclear to me from everything you said, was to "uncheck the check boxes" for MS Logon. I was setting the vnc password repeatedly, but still getting the MSLOGON.
It is difficult that the tray icon is not visible at times, too; I had to remove winvnc.exe from memory before running the server again (as instructed)
to get the tray icon to show.
All OK now.
Best, Randall
