Easy Question. Failed to connect to server.
Easy Question. Failed to connect to server.
I am trying to connect from one office to another. When I try to connect I get the following message: "Failed to connect to server!". I have port 5900 open and ultravnc unblocked on the firewall.
Is 5900 open on all firewalls? Your client and server could both be behind separate firewalls. If using XP you could be hitting a Windows firewall on one or both of the machines as well.
In my case I needed to connect from work to home. I had to open a FW on my home router, and a software FW (norton internet worm protection) on the home computer. My company's FW which I have no control over blocks outbound ports 5800 and 5900, so I had to change the uvnc's port # to 443 as well.
