Accept/Reject option for listening viewer

Post by mbrown »

This would be handy for me, since I have many remote machines configured with the UltraVNC server set to connect to my listening viewer upon reboot. Sometimes I have computers connect to me when I don't want them to.

Would it be possible to create an Accept/Reject message on the listening viewer, preferably one that would time out and reject in about ten seconds if the accept button isn't selected?

some work around
  • solution1

vncviewer since rel 1.0.1 (6 august 2005) or higher
    vnviewer -listen port
right click on systray vncviewer... left click "Toggle Listen Mode"
every request from winvnc is simply ignored until you switch again "Toggel Listen Mode"
  • solution2

SingleClick(winvncsc) is designed for request from viewer acept or refuse (default refuse)

redge,

Ah, that does help. I was using the v1.0.1 viewer from BEFORE that date, which let me disable incoming connections but not re-enable the listening functionality. I downloaded the viewer by itself and now see the "toggle" function.

Is the server component from after that date any different than the first v1.0.1 server, or only the viewer?

Still, it would be nice to have the Accept/Reject feature on the listening viewer, much like SC has.

Thanks!
Michael

I'not dev, so I don't have knowledge for read fix was made to CVS between pre-release 1.0.1 to final release 1.0.1

I think some fix are done to winvnc 1.0.1 as same logic for vncviewer pre-release 1.0.1 to final release 1.0.1
