The thing I really need now. Tried to do the port, but I am low on time and close to give up with this idea.

B.t.w.: Any ideas about running VNC over HTTP? It may be a good enhancement for the "listen mode" scheme, which some tech support people use for controlling client's desktops.
The idea is the input and output streams for the server go as endless "upload" and "download" to/from the repeater host, which refines input and output from two CGIs (one accepts the "input", other sends the "output") to the "normal" protocol interaction. A nice solution for a remote support services - do not have to worry about 5001 (or any other) port to be open at the client's side. If a client can reach your support web site, you can do the remote control. The only trick is to skip HTTP's headers before connect and synchronize incoming and outgoing streams on the repeater's side... However, I guess, this should not be a big problem.

The non-MS world isn't all linux.
Something that would work on the BSD's would also be of great use. I use OpenBSD, but FreeBSD or NetBSD would also be good.

If the current ultr@vnc repeater can't run on Linux, there are any other vnc repeater that works on linux (or *bsd) and can use it with ultr@vnc and SingleClick??

I've been using Ultr@vnc for a couple years now. I love it. Its size, speed, ease of use, and that it's still current. I have a virtual private server that runs redhat for my webpage. I support friends and relatives remotely. I'm interested in using my vps to host a repeater so i can support from anywhere without forwarding ports. I don't support any linux/unix systems, but i figured i can use this vps as the repeater. I've searched this message board extensively and have yet to find a straight answer. Is this possible? With SC? What options do i have?

The repeater is really a program, that will be well-placed on a little Linksys router, but I did not find any hope for a router-solution in that thread.

I'm trying to mod ultravnc_repeater.pl so it would have simple security levels thus other mods.
Right now it has 3 running modes, normal, blacklist and whitelist mode.
