Relation of AESplugin and AESplugin V2 ??

Post by thoste »

How is there relationship between the AESplugin and AESplugin V2?

Is AESplugin V2 the successor of AESplug?

If yes, why starts the version/release numbering on page

http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/beta.html

for AESplugin V2 again with "001" and why not with "005"?

Why not naming V2 with 02.001?

Does AESplugin V2 include all features of pure AESplugin?

From the Beta site page...

AES plugin is based on code from WorkSpot. Its AES in CCM mode. It was based on old OpenSSL code which I updated. It had some bugs which I fixed.

AESV2 is my "second" AES plugin. The code is not based on WorkSpot code. It uses OpenSSL. Its 128 Bit AES in OFB mode.

Actually the ARC4 plugin and the AESV2 plugin have much more in common than AES and AESV2.
