Version number weirdness

Post by kger »

I noticed that when I run the 1.0.1 viewer program from the UltraVNC installation directory (c:\program files\ultravnc\vncviewer.exe) the version number on the "About" dialog reads:
Ultr@VNC Win32 Viewer v1.0.0 RC 19

But when I run the same program from a different directory (after copying vncviewer.exe to from the installation directory to elsewhere), the version number in the "About" dialog reads:
UltraVNC Win32 Viewer 1.0.1 Release

Interestingly, the "Build" date and time are the same.

Why would this be?

easy answer
you use lang.dll as german was not up to date yet and don't reflect new build about translated. (if i'm not wrong)
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer

That makes sense. Thanks for the info.
