Classic problem?

Post by wmoerdijk »

I have a problem with a number of my clients. Their internet connection is regulated through a proxy (so in IE the proxy is set to a specific server). When they use my SC distribution it can not get to my IP.

I can setup my listening viewer to use a proxy but what about the serverside. In the helpdesk.txt I can set a repeater IP but I do not think this is the same as their proxy. Is this correct?

These clients (hospitals) are on large networks so there is no way I can get the IT department to change the way they connect to the internet.

I am using the 1.00 release with encryption on port 80 (or 1080 or 8080). All clients not using a proxy but using a firewall are working fine.

Any thoughts?

Don't use those ports numbers. Try using a random port in the 50,000 to 65,000 range. Generally, proxies only intercept traffic on well known ports like 80 and 8080. You also might try port 443.
