noob query: vncviewer default listening port

Post by gpk »

Hi all sorry for the noobie question ...

Am I right in thinking that vncviewer listens on port 5500 by default (not 5900 like the server/service)

And to get it into listening mode (without encryption) I just do:

vncviewer -listen

??

I guess I could try it all out at home but I don't have access to a 2nd pc there ...
Thx

Hey I managed to work it out by doing loopback connections ... I guess I just didn't expect it that to work (this is what happens if you are used to using M$ ....!)

FOr anyone else who wants to know, the answers to my questions are:
Yes and Yes

Giles :)
