Send ctrl+alt+del to host

Post by dsmcd01 »

Hello...

I see the FAQ on sending ctrl+alt+del to host at
[topic=61][/topic]

But I'm curious...what is it about running the server as a sevice that allows the ctrl+alt+del to be accepted by the host?

Just curious. :) Any suggestions?

Thx,
D.

ctrl-alt-del is a security command...
Can only be execute by keyboard or emulated as service (system account)

It is a MS protection to prevent applications for using CAD.

The second problem is that running as application you only have access to your own desktop. Windows use several desktops, each of them have there own security level.
-logon desktop(system)
-users desktop(user)
-screensave desktop(user)
If your screensaver ask a password to be deactivated, you don't have access to read the logon desktop--> running as application you loose the connection

As application you possible only want to popup the taskmanager...
Run: taskmgr via startup does the same
