UltraVNC and Terminal Server, 'system bar' conflict

Post by PatrickF »

I have many machines that we need to access remotely via (any version of) VNC. To do this we log into a MS Terminal Server and then VNC out to the hosts in question.

Ultravnc is great, especially with the chat and file transfer features, but there is ONE issue that is annoying: when made full screen the terminal server style "system bar" that drops down is fully hidden by the MS-RDP client's "system bar".

This means that when we we wnat to close the vnc session we have to drop out of full screen mode in terminal services.

Can you move it over to the right corner of the screen, so when we are full screen in both rdp and u-vnc we can close the vnc session easily?

Otherwise, well done - especially the recent builds that have seemed to have stopped the lockups that we were experiencing when using it a terminal server session.

I agree. As much as I love UltraVNC, something to avoid the overlap would please me greatly. Perhaps an option to make it flush to the right?

Note: this also affects people (like me) using Remote Desktop to a Windows XP Professional box (it's the exact same client software).

PROBLEM WITH ULTRAVNC V1.0 AND TS

Post by neorionx »

There is a problem with Ultravnc server and Terminal services. I have the same configuration as you guys and with the RC18 and 19 worked fine i was able to share the remote window to vnc clients, but now, after i installed the lastest version of ultravnc i try to connect as a client and it gets me the user lockup screen on the server just as if i had walk out for while and came back the user i am on and asks me to enter password again to unlock screen and ultravnc client (allversions tried) cannot connect.

any suggestions?\

and not to forget, full-screen ultravnc in a full-screen ultravnc also have this prob. in this case even moving the full-screen titlebar to the right don't fix anything.
but as long as you can just restore your VNC/RDC from full-screen and fix it manually, this is not ever a big problem is it?
i can't think of any definite solution for this anyway.
