Re: deiconify on bell??
It allows the ability to send the bell character to the viewer. If VNCServer is running on a machine using a “bell†message (a beep notifying the user that email has arrived, for example), VNC will transmit this bell message, causing a beep at the viewer if it has sound facilities. If the viewer is minimized during the process, receiving the bell message will cause the viewer to un-minimize. What part of this process "deiconify" represents, I have no idea.
Re: deiconify on bell??
Hey thanks for the quick reply! Just kidding, I just *HAD* to make a comment seeing a reply to a three-and-a-half year old message. Funny I had this topic set to notify me with replies.
Seriously, though, thanks for the answer, NoFastidies. I'm guessing "de-iconify" means having something to do with restoring the minimized task (maybe the taskbar button is referred to as an "icon" here).
