Rel1.00

vncdrv.dll 1.00.19
vnccom.sys 1.00.17
vncdrv.sys 1.00.17

but also accept

vncdrv.dll 1.00.18
vnccom.sys 1.00.17
vncdrv.sys 1.00.17

Only difference between 18/19 is a drvtextout fix for missing chars

it almost seems a little chaotic to rush a release candidate out through the forums - right before the final 1.0.0 public release.

i mean, i would love to see 1.0 by june 20th just like everyone else... but will that allow enough time for testing? i didn't even see this post until today, so i only have 6 or 7 days to test.

anyway, can someone with access to the http site please zip the setupdir folder into one file? my web browsers are only letting me save one file at a time:

http://www.uvnc.com/v100/setupdir

thanks!

The testing of all bug fixes has been done one be one
Bug report, fix, exe, test....
This way i'm pritty sure no new bugs where added.
But still, some old bugs that never ended in the "Verified bug" section
or where not found, still exist.

Without a "rush" the whole project whould be in RC until september or later. This month i have time, but from Juli i will start on a major develoment project.
We have postponed it to mant times, need the Rel1.00 this time.

The goal is 21 june, need to be before 1 Juli.
In wurst case we have a week more...

makes sense... and fully understood. i was just questioning the final phase testing only being mentioned in the forums. i almost missed it. no worries, 1.0 will be solid!

also, rudi... can you plz zip the setupdir folder for me so i can download it in one package?

thanks in advance!

actually, is this setup.exe script automatic like the one marscha was working on?

The script we used is Marscha's script(edited), as it was a lot better then our orignal.

Looks a good version.

Don't forget to update the web site!
The doc section has much nicer characters and organisation than the main page... Check out this:
[topic=2707][/topic]

Maybe just redo 1-2 main pages (i.e. general description as now but bigger characters) with the same template used for the doc.uvnc.net and leave the rest to the doc section?
That way it would be easier to update!

As the doc site has grown, the http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/ is no longer needed.

So we could actual redirect the site to doc.uvnc.com or use fs as backup
copy from the doc site..

Seems a good idea to forward everything there.
Remember also that there are:
a) http://www.uvnc.com/
b) http://www.uvnc.net
to sort out.

Probably best to have them all point to the doc.uvnc.net and if any extra info is available on those pages, might be reused/transferred for parts of the .doc

Driver issue should be solved, new installer online
was not better in my situation,
video hook driver still not active after an upgrade old v1 to new v1 on w2k3

workaround
video hook driver finally work after uninstalling driver... reboot... install reboot... OK
I think that's kind of serious and should be thoroughly investigated.

btw: now that V1 is in final test phase, wouldn't it be good to point to this version from uvnc.com ?
There, stable version is still the very old RC18, and even dev. version links to an old RC20.x file.
Linking to V1 (RC) would probably give way more feedback regarding the final RC (and having people still download RC18 doesn't make much sense IMO).

The only file that get updated ==vncdrv.dll in system32

The only problem is that when the file is locked, the actual update
happen on reboot.
But winvnc code was changed to make it work with driver (dll 1.0.18 and dll 1.0.19).
So, even when the update happen on reboot the old dll should still work, unless the system lock the driver

Try to check it.

1.
The new installer is working now under WinME !!!
(UltraVNC-1.0-Setup.exe 13-Jun-2005 12:40 3.0M)
Great !

2.
The blank screen problem still exist under WinME:
When the viewer request it, the sreen of the server goes blank, but on the viewer screen there is NO refresh at all (the refresh button doesn't work too) ...

Installed using UltraVNC-1.0-Setup.exe 13-Jun-2005 12:40 on two machines. One is working fine both as server and client. The other one works fine as a client, but it blue screens if I try to access Admin properties while the video hook is activated. I've gotten around this by not using the video hook dll with this particular machine, but without the video hook it has a 2-3 second lag. I'll try to reply soon with some blue screen details. This machine is my file server so I can't have it crashing or resetting whenever I feel like.

BTW, the post above is for a Windows 2000 Pro system w/ 2GB ram. I did a complete uninstall before installing Rel 1.00, including removing the video hook driver.

Ok, so now I can't reproduce the blue screen, but I guess that's a good thing, but winvnc crashes whenever I try to login from a client machine while the video hook is truly enabled (i.e. every active in the driver test and Attach.ToDesktop=1). The error message is below.

Program Error
winvnc.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows
You will need to restart the program

These are the driver versions I get from the video driver test.
vncdrv.dll 1.00.19
vnccom.sys 1.0.0.17
vncdrv.sys 1.0017

w2k is well tested and should work...
Possible video card issue (15 and 24 bit sometimes give trouble)
Color depth ? Can you try 16 or 32 bit

Thank you, that worked! My color depth was set to 24, so I changed it to 16. It's essentially a file server, so I don't know why it was set to 24 in the first place.

ver 1.00, does it have any bug fixes for Repeater? Great little app, but crashes on Win 2003 SP1 via RDP.
