Is it possible to add support for hearing the remote desktop audio/sound?
If not, is there another way to enable remote desktop sound/audio and use UltraVNC seperately?
Regards

Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
Re: Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
RFB protocol cannot transfer sound. Use RDP instead if you need the sound.
Re: Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
Could it be implemented as an UltraVNC specific feature (for people using UltraVNC as both the server and client)? Audio over VNC seems to be a pretty rare thing, and requires a paid solution like Real VNC. I'd rather use UltraVNC.

Ideal a 2 way audio should be implemented, but current no in UltraVNC.
It's on the back of the list for changes, a lot of work and not asked a lot as feature.

Re: Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
Thank you for explaining. Since all paid VNC have sound support, maybe a group of people would be willing to donate for the sound feature.
For me it is a necessary feature and I definitely would love to use UltraVnc rathar than all those services
I see from the answer above that with RDP it is possible. Can you point out to the procedure to activate sound transfer via rdb?
Thank you!

Re: Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
In the Windows Remote Desktop client, click the "Show Options" button to show the extra configurable settings, select the Local Resources tab, click the Settings button beneath the Remote audio heading and pick the option to "Play on this computer". This should send the remote computer's audio to your local computer while you're connected. It may be more or less choppy depending on the available bandwidth. Third party implementations for Remote Desktop Protocol should have similar options, and they may work better or worse than the Windows implementation.
Re: Support for remote desktop sound/audio?
Thank you. Unfortunately on the server side RDP doesn't work because I have windows home. Maybe I'll upgrade meanwhile I'll use UltraVnc and anyviewer when I need sound. Thank you for your comments, it is useful for me to hear from who has experience.
