- https://uvnc.eu/download/1400/UltraVNC_ ... _Setup.exe
- https://uvnc.eu/download/1400/UltraVnc_1408.zip
- https://uvnc.eu/download/1400/UltraVnc_1408_x86.msi
- https://uvnc.eu/download/1400/UltraVnc_1408_X64.msi

Changelog
- Display fix
- Logging patch added (mslogon give a little more info)

The display is a nasty code part, just hope no other display issue's are added, small change and found anything while testing.

Quick feedback:
Version 1.4.0.8 worked in all my tests:
  • Repeater connection
  • Direct connection
  • Build-in authentication
  • MSLOGON2 authentication
  • Notification messages
  • UAC prompts (in al my tests the server was running as service)

from version 1.4.0.5 up to the latest 1.4.0.8 it is very slow when using the vncview repeater when "negotiate protocol version". If 1.3.8.1 is used it is always fast in all operations.

Slow: screen updates, connections.
Please specify, a general slow is hard to check

it is slow only in the first phase of connection when vncview connects to the server through my repeater. When the viewer is connected it works fine and there are no problems.
So the problem for me is only in the first stage and
hangs for several seconds when viewer writes "negotiate protocol version"

As I had already written, if I use version 1.3.8.1 on both the server and client side, the connection is practically instantaneous.

I can reproduce the problem anytime.
Let me know
Thank you.

SC_2.0 test
Use
https://support1.uvnc.com/cgi-bin/upload12.pl
to generate SC

Zip can contain ( SC_Server_ClientAuth.pubkey, helpdesk.txt SC_20.ini background.bmp logo.bm)

1) start normal winvnc.exe, select encryption SecureVNCPlugin.dsm and generate keys.
rename pubkey to SC_Server_ClientAuth.pubkey and viewer key to SC_Viewer_ClientAuth.pkey

2) upload zip and download SC

3)run vncviewer ( make sure the viewer key is in the same folder), select encryption and start listener

The sample use the localhost, so server connect to viewer running on the same host ( replace localhost in helpdesk.txt to connect to a real external host)

Check helpdesk.txt and SC_20.ini in sample to see how to add it.

Test files
helpdesk.zip
https://www.uvnc.eu/download/1400/helpdesk.zip
Viewer key used in sample
https://www.uvnc.eu/download/1400/SC_Vi ... tAuth.pkey

Replace the keys by your own, private key is now publlic.. only for testing.

Hello,
thanks for your great work.
Do you have a schedule when to update the site uvnc.com with 1.4.0.8 download and history/changelog?

Could it be that simple.
The logging is now logging the viewer name instead of the ip, but dns can take 20s to lookup.
building a version that log the old way

Yeah looks like I have the same issue. If there is no reverse zone for the ip range the viewer is on, it take 20+ seconds to connect (tested on 1.4.0.6). This does not occur on 1.3.8.1. Adding a reverse zone and having an entry for the viewer pc resolves the issue.

I do not log on the server, but I do have an incoming connection query window which display's the dns name of the viewer pc on the server.
