Post by docfxit »

In a .bat file how can I tell the install to install the software into a custom folder?

C:\Programs\Ultravnc

Thank you,

sc create %your_service_name_uvnc% type= own start= auto error= ignore binpath= "C:\your_path\your_folder\winvnc_official_name_if_not_renamed.exe -service"
sc Description %your_service_name_uvnc% "Provides ultravnc desktop service or your description string"
sc start %your_service_name_uvnc%

you need an elevated prompt

Thank you for the reply...

I'm not trying to create "Single Click". I'm trying to install Ultra VNC.

Thank you,

I am using a .bat file to install UVNC.

This is the cmd line I am using:

Code: Select all

"VNC UltraVNC_1_4_06_X64_Setup.exe" /verysilent /loadinf=C:\Dnload\9xAddons\VNCsetup.inf" /NORESTART
When I use the "/verysilent" or the "/silent" switch it ignores the install folder defined in VNCsetup.inf

Code: Select all

[Setup]
Lang=en
Dir=C:\Programs\UltraVNC
Group=UltraVNC
NoIcons=0
Components=server,server\driver,viewer,dsm
Tasks=installservice,cleanreg
PropertiesFile=C:\Dnload\9xAddons\VNCsetup.reg
SetupType=full
Is there a way to get "/verysilent" to use the Dir in the inf file?

I was told by someone that there is a cmd line option called /Dir=
It's not documented within the UVNC cmd line documentation.
I found that does make the install go into a custom folder.
This is my cmd line:

Code: Select all

 "VNC UltraVNC_1_4_06_X64_Setup.exe" /verysilent /loadinf="C:\Dnload\9xAddons\VNCsetup.inf" /NORESTART /DIR=C:\Programs\UltraVNC

Al tittle trick run to create the inf file
UltraVNC_1_4_00_X64_Setup.exe /SAVEINF="mysettings.inf"

This create the inf file based on your custom settings.

Later you can use this as input
see Docfxit message

More option you find at the installer help page, this are not uvnc specific but standard "inno setup"
