Hi.
I'm trying to replace teamviewer to remotely connect from wherever to my home server. I can successfully connect, but I can see only part of the server's screen - it looks like upper left 640x480 portion. Not that the resolution is low, I simply miss the rest of the screen.
Funny thing is when I tried to connect to my virtual testing ubuntu, exactly the same happens.

Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
I have the same problem when I try to connect with UltraVNC from a Surface 6 with Windows 10 to a PC with Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Tried several parameters on the UltraVNC Viewer but nothing works.
I can see only the upper left quarter part of the screen.

Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
Uvnc is tested with TigerVNC on the unix site, don't know how other flavors behave.
Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
I can confirm the issue.
It is on the side of viewer:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-re ... issues/114
This is the default "VNC provider" now in 22.04, previously Vino was used.

Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
Just letting you know that this issue is still present with viewer 1.4.0.6.
Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
And still happening in 1.4.0.9. I've rolled back through old versions and the last one that worked properly was 1.2.4.0. Version 1.3.1 (release candidate) and up are all only showing a top left portion of the screen. Issue has been opened on github:

Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
Additional note which may be relevant, the server I'm connecting to is effectively "headless" since I keep the monitor powered off unless I am at the console. I have not yet tried connecting with the monitor powered on.
Still, this works properly in UltraVNC 1.2.4.0 or earlier, and TigerVNC (1.13.1) but unfortunately TigerVNC does not support scaling which is something I need. RealVNC viewer (7.0.1), which also supports scaling, does not work. RealVNC explicitly states they may have problems in headless Linux configurations.
I really hope UltraVNC can be sorted out as it has been my preferred viewer for years. That whatever was altered after 1.2.4.0 which broke this can be tracked down and corrected.

Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
I have the same issue.
Thx for advice! Now I can upgrade my old version 1.2.2.4 to the latest 1.2.4 one (which I can use)

Re: Only part of screen on Ubuntu screen sharing
I updated my systems to 1.4.3.6 and I have to report that this issue still exists.
