What can I do more to connect?

Post by DeonH »

Hi there,

I'm trying to connect to my PC at home from work. At work I am admin and have a DSL line with only my Laptop connected to it.

At home I have a Netgear DG834GT wireless ADSL/Router.

1. UltraVNC RC 20.3
2. I have forwarded port 5900 to IP 192.168.0.10 which is a static IP address for my PC.
2. The port forwarding I have done as per www.portforward.com

Please find links to graphics of my settings and correct me where I did wrong.

I hope you experts have enough info to help me out.

don't put any static IP on DHCP range, can conflict with another computer obtain correct dynamic IP from your DHCP use next 192.168.0.11

Hi there,

I have done as you have suggested. I still cannot get in but I have an idea we are close.

Something I did not mention in my 1st message, is that I connect with a cable to my router. At the moment the PC's IP address is 192.168.0.3

You have adviced a setting at 192.168.0.11

Nothing in my network has that address?

Will you please see me through with this?

Deon

change the network settings of your Network interface card (NIC) from DHCP to manual in your book of netgear, you have a step to do how to manually configure your netword card of your computer DEON-PC at 192.168.0.11
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)

Redge,

I'm really greatfull with your patience to help me.

I have manually net my PC's IP now set at 11, but when I try to "reserve that address" without any success.

(I have bought myself a new PC today and have to re-format my HDD anyway, so I'll play around with these settings and let you know.)

Deon
