What is Virtual driver

Post by vuttol »

There is a file in the ultravnc1.3.2bin.zip archive Readme.txt, it says "manual install virtual driver". What driver are we talking about? This is the ddengine?

I am quite sure this refers to the virtual screen driver. It allows to create virtual desktops and even operate UVNC on servers which do not have any (physical) screens connected to them.

The driver is usually located in the UVncVirtualDisplay[64] folder in the server installation folder. The driver can be installed via the supplied inf file or using "winvnc.exe -installdriver" command line.
The driver installation is optional. If you don't install it your server will simply be unable to create virtual screens and work on physical ones only just like previous releases.

Here https://www.uvnc.com/docs/documentation ... plays.html
