Viewer eats the Cyrillic letter "у"

I haven't used my favorite VNC viewer in years. But today I installed the latest version (1.3.2a) and was unpleasantly surprised that I can't enter the Cyrillic letter "у". The capital letter "У" also cannot be entered - when pressing the corresponding key simply nothing happens. There are no problems with other letters of the Cyrillic alphabet.

I checked a few other viewers - there are no problems with Cyrillic letters. Only UltraVNC upset me.

Does it work with the Japanese keyboard mode (viewer setting)
You can also try (server option)
[]Alternate keyboard
[]International keys

They all handle the keyboard a little different.

With Japanese keyboard mode I've got no Cyrillic letter at all.

Sorry, I've lost some details for initial post.
Server: Linux Mint 18.3 with standard vino server (GNOME Desktop Sharing).
Client: Windows 7 x64.

When you are using a linux server, windows server settings make no sense.

I don't think there is a solution for now.
What other opensource windows vnc flavors have you tesed and works ok, then i can peek at the source code

I'm using TurboVNC for now.
Tested with TightVNC and TigerVNC successfully also.
