Hi,
Running vncviewer 1.2.4.0 with settings ZRLE - 256 colors - let remote server deal with mouse cursor - Japanese keyboard.
OS : Windows 10 64bit Home Edition
The clients are running W10 and winvnc 1.2.4.0 64 bit
Lets say I did not connect to the client for a few hours.
When I connect for first time vncviewer crashing in 1 second. After I connect to the server, I can see that there is a second winvnc icon and it does not crash again.
The winvnc settings are Pool Full Screen - Legacy Capture Auto - System Hookdll - Desktop Duplication - Low Accuray - Max Cpu 50
This is happening on Win 7 also.
I notice I have vncviewers stuck in memory, killing them also.
Is there any way to fix this problem. Many on next update but this crashing problem is happening nearly on all pc , I connect to.
Thanks,
Burzek

Re: Ultravnc crashing on first connection
Can you check if this upcoming version has the same issue.
viewtopic.php?t=36842#p108771
I don't want to spend time on 1.2.4.0
If it still exist in 1.3.0 we need to be able to repeat and fix it.
Could you also fast check if using another encoder/color depth fix it in 1.2.4.0
Thanks

Re: Ultravnc crashing on first connection
Hi Rudi,
Good news, I have tried vnc viewer 1.3.0 , without changing 1.2.4.0 servers, and the vncviewer does not crash anymore.
Just , it still can stay in memory if the connection is broken. However compared to 1.2.4.0 viewer, 1.3.0 viewer is great.
1.2.4.0 viewer kept crashing even with changing color-encoder to full color / encoder tightvnc 256 color upon first connections.
I did not try 1.3.0 server.
Thanks a lot.

Re: Ultravnc crashing on first connection
Hi Rudi,
Just an update , sometimes I still get freezes or disconnection on first connection. However, compared to 1.2.4.0 viewer this is decreased significantly.
I also noticed I have similar problem when connecting to a raspberry pi3 running x11vnc: 0.9.13 , a very old build but still having similar freezing problems.
I guess the main problem is the vncviewer component of uvnc, which is having problem. It is not server side but the client side that needs a good fix.

Burzek
