Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
This question is really important for the development of UltraVNC.
When do you migrate from SVN to Git?
It is possible to move the default development on GitHub too?
Best developer community, more development...
Thanks in advance.

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
@Rudi : UltraVNC needs a better development, it is possible to move on GitHub or create an official mirror?

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
I agree this would be a real welcome decision for future contributors/developers of UVNC.

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
@Rudi De Vos: Thanks!
It is a big improvement.
Now, you can join the ultravnc organization: https://github.com/ultravnc and transfer your repository into https://github.com/ultravnc.
After, you must to inform on the website, in packages, in the source code that the code is now on GitHub.
Have you looked for website, forum, and all domain problems that I have specified you several times in a lot of years...

Can you add other sources too?
Repeater, UltraVnc SC, PCHelpware, ScreenRecorder, SecureVNC Plugin, ...

Populated
https://github.com/ultravnc/main
https://github.com/ultravnc/development
I'm current adding better multi monitor support. (ExtDesktop option)
-Viewer monitor size are send to server and server set het size(s) the same as the viewer.
-Adding support to inject virtual monitors to match viewer site. ( server real + virtual) -> viewer with 2 monitors.
Like the RDP option "Use all my monitors for the remote session"

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
@Rudi De Vos: You have done bad links in your last message.
And there is a problem
Why have you removed the repository from "yesterday" and republished?
Today, I see 2 repositories and it is not same:
- https://github.com/ultravnc/ultravnc
- https://github.com/RudiDeVos/ultravnc
You can have several branches in one repository.
Only one is needed for ultravnc (in ultravnc organization), and after, you can work directly on it or you can fork in your personal account and merge when you want.
Please remove the repository in ultravnc org and transfer the personal repo into ultravnc org.
There will be a redirection https://github.com/RudiDeVos/ultravnc -> https://github.com/ultravnc/ultravnc
No lost.
The main repository need to be sync with SF.
To move a repository : https://github.com/RudiDeVos/ultravnc/settings at the bottom "Transfer ownership" and select the org...

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
https://github.com/RudiDeVos/ultravnc is a test repo to get myself familiar with the github.
I still need to set it private so avoid confusing, ignore yesterday commits, it was just a test.
Indeed, you can have several branches ( main/developer, otfix) and you can also create multiple repos.
https://github.com/ultravnc/ultravnc
https://github.com/ultravnc/ultravnc_SC
I don't want to use SF (svn) and github.
The main repository need to be sync with SF ??? don't understand

Re: Migrate Sourceforge SVN source to Git and move to GitHub
@Rudi De Vos: OK!
I have update all links in my tickets except one, already archived: https://github.com/logiclrd/ultravnc/issues/1
- https://github.com/search?q=ultravnc&type=issues
Not here yet: https://github.com/ultravnc/ultravnc_SC, but you can only name https://github.com/ultravnc/SC
No, the really best solution is now to use only GitHub
