8 characters only passwords?

Hi,

I set my VNC server with a 12 characters password but when I use VNCviewer, I can only type 8 characters.
Only 8 ? That's a security convern, IMO.

And also, why the password size is not the same on all programs? I would expect some kind of "max password size" to be a global variable on all sources.

rfb protocol only support max 8 chars.
To be able to use longer password you need to use the dsmplugin

Thanks Rudi. Never noticed that.
I didn't find where I could submit an enhancement request.
IMO, when user enters a password >8 characters, VNCserver should warn him he needs the dsmplugin.
