Hi everyone:
I am new to Ultra VNC.
I have the VNC Viewer software on my computer. I am the client computer and I have Windows10 Home Edition. The Server computer has Windows 7 Home Edition.
I also installed the SecureVNCPlugin64.dsm file
Since I installed the plugin my connection is not working and when I uninstall the plugin it still doesn't work like it used to. The error I am getting is as follows:
"Handshake response lacked client authentication key."
What is the Client Authentication Key, please? Any help would be appreciated in helping me resolve this issue.

you can use the plugin in multiple modes.
1) enrcyption key is vnc password
2) encryption kyy use long password
3) enryption kry use prdefined key
Howto use a mode
1) Just install the plugin on both sites
2) Install the plugin and set a password
3) configure plugin and create encryption keys. This create TWO keys. One for the server and one for the viewer.
You need to manual copy the viewer key to the viewer pc ( same folder as vncviewer.exe)
Looks like you wanted to use mode 3 but did not copy the key
-copy the key or erase the keys in the winvnc folder so you default to mode 1 or 2

I've been using ULTRAVNC with no encryption and selecting Require MS Login for the ID / PW. Been working flawlessly for quite some time.
I'm now trying to enable encryption. I enabled the plugin on both machines and now I get Authentication Rejected all the time. I can still authenticate to a machine that is not encrypted. The setup sounds so straight forward but I'm getting nowhere. I'm running version 1.2.5.1 on both systems.

The plugins are dll's, if manual added make sure the plugins use the same arch 32/64 as the exe.
Normal you just [v] use plugin without any setting and do the same on the viewer site. Then the passwd is the vnc passwd.
If this works you can try the other options
ultravnc.ini contain all plugin settings and is portable.
At a home pc try to make it work, you can run server/viewer on the same pc, you just need to be able to connect. Then you can copy the ini to the remote
