I have recently updated UVNC to 1.2.5 on three Windows 10 PC's that are fully updated to Build 1909.
When remote viewing certain apps, they don't display completely. One of the worst is the Firefox browser.
The window for the browser opens, but is completely blank (displays totally white), no controls, no images.
The only way to close Firefox window is with the Task Manager.
A few days ago I had installed 1.2.4 and Windows Settings window was completely blank, this was corrected by 1.2.5.
Another app that has issues is the old Windows Live Mail; it displays tools and toolbars, but the contents of the sub-windows are blank.
There was also an issue with the Notification Sidebar with v1.2.4; no actions on the sidebar worked (e.g. message clearing, etc.)
Not sure as yet whether 1.2.5 fixes this problem.
Has anyone else experienced these issues?

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
Make sure the option for 'Capture Semi-transparent windows' is enabled on the server side. At least for me that was the issue in the past with Firefox and other applications.
In the server ini file there should be an entry:
CaptureAlphaBlending=1
That will turn it on, not sure if there's a GUI way to do it, just looked and didn't see it? Rudi?

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
Hi Rudi,
Thanks for the reply.
I looked in both the GUI and ultravnc.ini, and did not see any reference to "CaptureAlphaBlending"; in fact I searched for "capture", the search came up empty.
First, to make sure we are on the same sheet of music; I'm using UVNC 1.2.5.0.
Is that control something that can simply be added anywhere in the file?
BTW: I looked at a GUI of an Old version of UVNC, and in Misc. I saw the "CaptureAlphaBlending" setting. But, it doesn't seem to be a option in either the GUI or the ultravnc.ini file of version 1.2.5.0.
P.S. Your really need to get rid of the question regarding "FLOSS license"; after a web search I know what it is, but I still don't know what the correct answer is.

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
You can just stop the server service or application, add that line in the ini file and restart the service or rerun the app, it should work properly then.
Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
Well I added CaptureAlphaBlending=1 to the ultravnc.ini file of the server PC, and I thought it worked.
I opened Firefox and it displayed correctly, but turns out there was a hitch.
The PC I was accessing is a laptop that's set to "Do Nothing" on lid closure for both battery & power operation.
When I went back to the server-laptop closed the lid, then relaunched Firefox on the client PC and the problem reoccurred; Firefox was blank.
Leaving Firefox running, I returned to the server-laptop and opened the lid, then returned to the client PC and found Firefox displaying correctly.
So it appears the CaptureAlphaBlending had no affect, and the problem has something to do when the display of the server-laptop is off.
While, as I said, the lid-closure is set to do nothing, it's still appropriately hardwired to turn-off the display when the lid is closed.
Do you have any thoughts on this issue?
P.S. I down graded to 1.2.2.3 and right now the only thing that's still not displaying properly is Firefox; curiously Chrome is not affected by the issue.

Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
There was mention somewhere in the forum of a similar issue. I believe a monitor has to be connected and turned on for the display to work with uVNC. Rudi would be the best to answer that though, sorry
Re: Issue with remote viewing of certain Apps & Functions
Do we have setting similar to the one in realvnc to try to overcome this issue?
