Recommended set up for development on windows 10?

What is the recommended set up for development?

1. virtualbox with host OS = windows 10 and guest OS = windows 10
1.1 To test the installation script?
2. visual studio 2017

On windows 10 i use hyper-v as it is already part of windows 10.
*Visual studio
**We use Visual studio 2010 as we want the exe to be compatable with xp.
**And also comple all using VS 2017

You also need nasm (https://www.nasm.us/) for some libs
directx SDK (directx sdk june 2010) for the directx part of the viewer

For the VS 2010 verion we use pre-compiled libs a copy of the folder with libs
can be downloaded from https://www.uvnc.eu/download/1224/vcpkg-master.zip

inno setup files, could be handy making your own installer
