Regarding Enable Blank Monitor on Viewer Request

Post by ritj2003 »

Hi,
There is an option to hide the screen display on server side "Enable Blank Monitor on Viewer Request".
I installed UltraVNCviewer and server. I noticed that there are 2 ways the monitor is blanked out
1. Display Layered window with big eye and
2. Turn the monitor power off
I tested UltraVnc on 2 Win OS : Win 7 and 10
In Win 7 layered window with big eye is displayed and in Win 10 the monitor screen is switched off.
Win 7 its working perfectly but Win 10 whenever there is mouse/key event on Viewer, the server monitor wakes up and then turned off.
Can you pls advice
- why there is different behavior
- does "Enable Blank Monitor on Viewer Request" functionality is supported on all Win OS.
- Which OS version layered window with big eye is displayed and which OS version monitor is turned off.

Thanks in advance
Regards
Ritesh

Your second question explain the first.
Layered window is not longer supported by the OS in windows 10, so we can only use the powermanager to turn the display of.
Not perfect, but better then nothing.

XP = OK
On windows 7, disable the DWM to capture the screen without the Layered windows
win8/windows 10 no support

"search CAPTUREBLT support"
