Rudi

There a very good news for SC with encryption plugin for next SC 1.x
http://home.comcast.net/~msrc4plugin/beta.html

If you replace old rc4plugin.dsm with the new AESplugin.dsm
there no need to configure anything for use encryption, only activate AESplugin,
There not necessary of UltraVNC full release for users only need SC
just add or include directly AESplugin with the vncviewer on webpage of SC creator.

Thank you very much to UltraVNC staff, Scovel and everybody
help this so nice forum improve UltraVNC tools work better and easy every weeks. :-D

It does not require a pre-shared key file. It uses a hash of your VNC password as the encryption key
SC is an invers connection that does not use a password.
Haven't checked it yet, but it looks like it will not work for invers connections.

there only sc ask viewer password, not to customer.
is not customer @server side need enter password, right
there no problem !
many users ask this way for not use a key file, but only ask password.
i think is same for SC too or i'm wrong.

seems to me the problem is that there is not password stored in the registry on the server side (don't forget that Ultra is not neccesary installed on the customer side !) to build the initial hash.

from the plugin site:

It uses a hash of your VNC password as the encryption key.

So, if there is not VNC password stored on the server side... what string is going to use to build the hash ? ... and ... what password is going to ask to the viewer ?

I think that this is possible, but I think that it is neccesary to build a special SC_AESPlugin for this to work, because the plugin needs to look for the password on another location different from the registry ...
