Win7 32bit & WHS 2011 Server Closed Connection

Post by simonk1969 »

I've installed UltraVNC_1.0.9.6.1_x64_Setup as a Service on my Windows Home Server 2011(64 bit) and set the VNC Password in the Server Admin Properties page. I've also included the viewer.
I've also installed UltraVNC_1.0.9.6.1_x32_Setup as a Service on my Windows 7 32bit workstation and set the VNC Password in the Server Admin Properties page. I've also included the viewer.

If I try to connect from my Windows 7 machine to the Server it asks me for the password and then I get a message saying Server closed Connection - The server running as application, I can also see in the VNC Viewer Status windows that it shows Connection Closed(1).

I've ran the following command netstat /an | find/i "5900" on the server which returns TCP 0.0.0.0:5900 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING which I believe is correct. I've also used telnet serverlocalipaddress 5900 to connect from the workstation and seem to have obtained a connection.

I can use the viewer from the Server to the Workstation without any problems.

Anyone any ideas what is wrong?

Thanks
Simon
