WOW, it's working but I have no idea why. All I did, in frustration, was hard reset the modem, set up the port forwarding just as I had done. Sort reset the modem and voila!

After weeks and weeks trying to get Ultravnc to with my Vista machine as host I finally got i running. How? simple I changed the default port to something other than 5900. Found the answer on realvnc. Why isn't this information available here and why does it do this?
