Is anyone willing to connect remote with me to see if you can see what I am doing wrong? I've been at this a week and can't seem to get it working.
I use Instant messenger so we could chat that way.

I meant to change TCP/IP back to :"obtain IP automatically " and
"obtain DNS server auto" I'll see what that does.

Re: Can connect with self, but not with friend
Ok. I have put http:\\ on both lines of the helpdesk.txt and on the rounter dynamic settings.
Still get error. The pluginwas unable to locate the key file.
I had set the router to static IP I'll try changing that back to dynamic and see.
Any other ideas?

huh? I'm not familiar with all the jargon, I'm sorry.
I have a Domain name for my website. Can I use that somehow? And if so How? Please, if you can, give me step by step to do. Or point me to a place where I can find that.
Thanks.

That worked. Since the shortcut already had -listen 5500 I left the 5500 in and it worked.
Now to try with a friend in the outside world!
Thanks.

Re: Can't connect, The plugin was unable to locate the key f
When I open the viewer in listen mode I can't check the dsm plugin
When I open the viewer I can. It was checked. So I unchecked it and closed it and opened the viewer in listen mode. Still get Invalid Protocol.

It connects now even though I get an error message on the server (laptop) side: "The plugin was unable to locate the key file..." How do I get rid of that? It will certainly confuse people. Ok I'm back at it. The connection works with no encryption. I'm going back through the encryp. instructions. Re: How do you get Encryption to work?
I uncheck it, Click the X in the corner
Double click it again from the sys tray and the check is back.
Now I do have the target on the icon for the viewer on the start menu set with the dsm plugin. Should I take that out?
