Re: Will donate: SC and MacOS compatibilty
Found an email, will post response if any. Having troubleshooted a friend by using UltraVNC SC, I wondered if there was a similar solution for Macs. I hastily threw some internals together and stuck them inside a Platypus bundle to make some instructions for easy use in this thread on the UltraVNC ...

There is that, but the source is nowhere to be found (It says it is under the GPL) and I have no contact info for the author.
Also the forum is locked or utterly dead with latests posts dating back to 2004.

Re: New Beta SC will be available in a few days..
I know that it is a different codebase, but how will this help the UltraVNC SC project? As in, the open sourced version?

Will some of these improvements be carried over to UltraVNC SC?

Re: Will donate: SC and MacOS compatibilty
Platypus to the rescue again. Throw VNCViewer in and append this to the script.
Check "Run in Background" . Name the thing and save.
Code: Select all
"$1/Contents/Resources/VNCViewer.app/Contents/MacOS/VNCViewer" listen

Re: Will donate: SC and MacOS compatibilty
If you just want listen mode, then run something like this in the terminal. You won't have to start up the client. Also, you won't get 2 icons in the dock either.redge wrote:http://www.realvnc.com/products/beta/

Re: Will donate: SC and MacOS compatibilty
I found a way to have a poor man's OSXvnc SC. This is pretty technical and I just tinker with scripts. In no way should this be ever said as out of beta or even an alpha. this is a really rough outline Download Platypus Make sure Xcode is installed. you'll need Interface Builder. Download OSXvnc. If ...

Re: Will donate: SC and MacOS compatibilty
`vncviewer -listen -encodings hextile` Darwinport installed TightVNC. It worked, but I had to use X11 and xterm. This will do for the time being. Here is to hoping for Chicken of the VNC compatibility. I do think that an OS X SC is kinda far off. I'm a little less eager for that, but that'll be cool ...
