Fixed the problem of only-showing-faint-outline Outlook 2003 menus by going into the Tools menu in Office 2003, taking the Customize... choice, and on the Options tab, making sure that Menu animations were set to either Slide or Unfold (not Random, Fade, or (System default), which seems to default ...
