Since both projects are GPL'ed, what documentation are they looking for, I wonder? Or are the sources not clear enough?

Wouldn't it make sense to keep OS X and multi-platform support in mind while doing the rewrite? Even if full support isn't included, good decisions made during the rewrite may make creating an OS X version much easier.

Running Java viewer standalone?

Hi, Does anyone have an easy way to get the the Java viewer to run it standalone? I'd like to take advantage of its multiplatform features and run it on OS X and Linux, but not to connect to UltraVNC servers. (I also wouldn't want to run it in a browser on my Windows client as the browser consumes ...

Any interest in working on this? It's still a problem with the latest release. I can provide network traces, etc if that will help...

I wonder why the Java app isn't extended to be run standalone? I don't see any point in having to use a web browser? Just let me run the Jar on the client standalone?

Mostly C++. You can download the source code and have a look.

I'm serious, though - if one or more of the authors would be willing to committing to working on an OS X version, I'd be interested in starting up a funding drive to purchase hardware for said project.

Maybe we can bribe the authors by taking up a collection to get them a Mac Mini or something?? =)

Since the threads in the "bug reports" section all appear to have been deleted for the 1.0 forum, reposting in this similar thread. Key points: - Viewer CPU goes to 100% on any screen update activity - Server is Apple Remote Desktop VNC Server that ships with all Macs - Problem only happens if ...

Just bumping this again - It would be amazing to have an OS X version of the server (or the client, though I care about the server =)

I'm wondering how we can draw some OS X developers here to help out with this...

use a mouse with 2 buttons ! :| ...If he wasn't already, why would he be complaining about not being able to right-click? In any case, to the original poster (or anyone that stumbles onto this thread) - if using the UltraVNC viewer to connect to ARD VNC server, try enabling the "swap mouse buttons ...

You mean the mirror driver? When I tried to run the driver setup utility on the OS X system it just laughed at me... I'd really like to use UltraVNC tho, it has features much superior to other VNC viewers, but uses REALLY high CPU/much slower updates compared to any others I've used with similar ...

I second that. It would be extremely useful. I nearly always use UltraVNC for connecting to my OS X box (for those times when I'm trapped in Windows), but it's really slow, even on LAN...

Incredibly high CPU utilization

Hi, I just installed RC18 and am using UltraVNC for the first time (I've been using RealVNC on Windows). I'm connecting to a non-UltraVNC server (in this case, Mac OS X). It displays okay as long as I don't select the "Auto" connection setting (otherwise I get some garbage at the top of the screen ...
