Do you know when a new 'official' release will be available for the fixed vnc server? I can update all our VNC servers with your new winvnc.exe but would prefer to use an official release package if it's only a matter of days / weeks.

Yes I can confirm we have seen issue 1 & 2 that you describe too.

We just did the test on Win7 x64, the problem seems fixed! Thanks a lot, if other testers have the same good results, will you provide a new official version?

Do we need to update the server or also viewer with your new download? I haven't checked the contents yet.

You are right, servers with a static screen have this problem all the time. We can reproduce this problem now.
I did the test with my collegue.
My collegue opened a VNC session to a server with a static screen, he had no grey screen.
I opened a VNC session to the same server with the static screen ...

At first, not all icons appear, after a while, indeed all icons appear and users can click but don't see the screen... auch.
The version is 1.2.1.1 x64, Build May 12 2016 22:34:37

We had this issue this morning which was reproducable.
- Windows 7 x64 host with UltraVNC Server 1.2.1.1 x64
- two users with Windows 7 x64 client with UltraVNC Viewer 1.2.1.1 x64

User 1 could connect immediately
User 2 got grey screen when also connecting
User 2 closed down & openened connection ...

Is there some kind of logging we can enable on server side and/or client side that can help you find the root cause of this issue?

Yes this is true, the grey screen seems to happen more often when other viewer sessions are connected to the server already.

In our case:

Server OS: VmWare virtual machine (5.5 U3) with Windows 2012R2 Server as guest OS
Client OS: Windows 7 x64 SP1 or Windows XP x86 SP3
Cpu speed server: Multicore ...

Yes I can confirm we have this issue with UltraVNC Server & Viewer 1.2.1.1 (at least the 64-bit version)

I can confirm we have the same issue with 1.2.1.1
Grey screens on connection. Does not happen all the time but it happens. Sometime we have to close/open connections three or four times in a row.

With the latest 64-bit release of 1.2.1.1, we still get grey screens on first connections sometimes between a 1.2.1.1 server and 1.2.1.1 viewer...

Setup of test:

viewer 64-bit 1.2.1.1 against server 32-bit 1.0.9.5. When the viewer settings are on auto, the viewer connects, but the screen is distorted / artifacted on the bottom right screen tile and no input is possible. The auto selection selects u2.

Thanks for the feedback. This issue was reported by other users as well from viewer 1.2.0.9. It seems to be that from that version on the auto connect option seems to select u2 instead of the usual hextile

We are using UltraVNC 1.2.0.6 server on Windows 2012R2 Server and UltraVNC 1.2.06 viewer on Windows 7x64 client.
