Re: UltraVNC repeater Warning after 1.2.1.0 install?
OK I tried http://localhost:80 using admin adminadmi2 (wasn't admin admin) and found teh settings page where I could specify web user port. I saved these and then checked the directory. Two files were saved, comment.txt with a list [comment] 0=0: 1=0: . . 1999=00: and settings.txt which looked like ...

Re: UltraVNC repeater Warning after 1.2.1.0 install?
Hi Rudi, Sorry, I looked and looked again at the repeater helpfile above http://www.uvnc.eu/download/1210/Repeater.pdf but I cannot see HOW and WHERE you MANUALLY set the Port. I thought this was just set automatically by the repeater, defaulting to Port 80; and if 80 was in use (e.g. by Skype) it ...

Port 80.
OK I did a netstat -aon | more
0.0.0.0.:80 has a PID of 6948
Process Explorer/TRask manager "Details" lists PID 6948 as repeater.exe

Re: UltraVNC repeater Warning after 1.2.1.0 install?
Hi Rudi, Sorry, but I am still troubled by this please? Your suggestions do not work for me. How can I help you troubleshoot it? [EDIT]OK, I unchecked "use port 80 and 443 for additional incoming connections" in Skype to free up Port 80. It's under Advanced settings, connections. It's clearly just a ...

Thanks for replying so quickly.
Sorry if I am doing something wrong here, but I tried both of those methods and still get the warning message. ???

Re: UltraVNC repeater Warning after 1.2.1.0 install?
Hi Rudi Thanks for that, the explanation is a bit clearer and I managed into login into the WebGui to check the Repeater settings. I had delete my old repeater settings files for that to work. What I was hoping that in settings, when you saved that you wanted to use Port 81, it would then save that ...

UltraVNC repeater Warning after 1.2.1.0 install?
I have the UltraVNC server running as an application and the Repeater to start at Windows Login. When windows starts I now get this error message: "The defined web port is already in use. Changed to http://localhost:81 Verify settings! Default user and password is admin" http://i68.tinypic.com ...

Re: Server closed connection- The Server is running as...
Hi folks, does anyone know if this been fixed for 1082 and above? I tried 10933 and get the same error.
When I try the 1056 viewer with 10933 it works just fine, like another thread user noted.
Unchecking the Java Viewer didn't work btw (as another user suggested)
Thanks a lot!

YY,
Thanks very much for taking the time to compose such a clear answer. I can't wait to get home to try it, it has been driving me crazy for ages. I have tried numerous combinations with no result.
Thanks again, will let you know how I get on.
Cheers

Re: Java Viewer via ASUS W-Fi Router connection problem
How does this work if I have chosen different port forwards for UVNC and UVNCJava. e.g. normally you'd go 1. Internal/External UVNC Java = 5800=>5800 = Server IP XX.XX.XX.XX 2. Internal/External UVNC = 5900=>5900 = Server IP XX.XX.XX.XX So that e.g. you'd use http://no-ip.com.mypc:5800 and it would ...

Can no longer resolve hostnames inside LAN?
I used to be able to enter a hostname e.g. "smurfpc" and it would resolve to the IP (192.168.1.10) WITHIN my LAN, to connect UVNC. I have no idea what I have done, but I can no longer do this. UVNC still connects just fine using the IP 192.168.1.10, but I find hostnames easier. ipconfig /all output ...

Re: Repeater version 1.0 responds differently
redge, I have been through a LOT of posts on this, and I am still confused. There's a repeater.exe and a distributor.exe It "seems", although they look very much alike, that: a. repeater.exe is for connecting using UVNC b. distributor.exe is for connecting using PVHW (although for simplicity lets ...

Re: UltraVNC won't wake sleeping VISTA PC but Router WOL OK?
Well I got it working but not through UVNC which I don't think works, at least not for me. I used the method (of a few different ones) described here: http://www.linksysinfo.org/forums/showthread.php?t=55331 (Post #5 in the Firewall Section) and the IP Neighbour command from post #1). The WOL ...

UltraVNC won't wake sleeping VISTA PC but Router WOL OK?
I did search, but couldn't find an exact match. My problems is simple. When my PC is awake UVNC Works great. No Problems, many years. My PC finally sleeps well now (after many months of working it out, S3 state IIRC) BUT it won't wake up when I try to UVNC to it? If I issue a manual WOL command from ...

Does this slow behaviour on Windows VISTA also manifest iteself using the repeater, rather than SC? My XP SP2 was fine, Vista is really slow.
The Tips for Speeding up VISTA\ XP in the FAQ appear to only pertain to speeding up the OS, not the UVNC experience. Any tips for that?

Worked on it but haven't found the pb in the code. Will retry for RC7 I'd like to note that I'm still getting this in 1.04RC12. :( It worked OK for a while, but now it's back. I get through OK to where you type in the password, then presto, "Unknown VNC Authentication result". Grrr. Are there any ...

Faulting application winvnc.exe ... faulting MSRC4Plugin ?
Apologies for the double post (was posted in Bugfixes for Rel 1.0.x) , I thought perhaps the moderator/authors of the other plugin only monitors this forum. Re: New modified repeater
I still use repeater. I'd like to see it continued, and updated to help identify errors such as "failed to resolve locally".
This (my) [topic=6829][/topic] requests a similar thing, i.e. Hostnames for Repeater.
Any chance of an update?

Would it be possible for one of the UVNC code writers to try the fix in the 2004 reference from misterti. I am still troubled by this error message and it's driving me crazy. Bevtech's solution to restart the server AND the service helper works, but I can't do that remotely :( if you stop the ...
