Re: Multiple UltraVNC folders. What do I need in each?
I have created .vnc files in the past. When you open one of these files it uses vncviewer.exe to open it. If I have additiional UltraVNC folders with vncviewer.exe and different keys in them, then I need different .vnc files to open with different vncviewer.exe files from the different UltraVNC ...

Re: Multiple UltraVNC folders. What do I need in each?
I see two files:
Zip32.dll
UnZip32.dll
Are they the files you had in mind? Are there any others that I need?
Thanks

Multiple UltraVNC folders. What do I need in each?
I need to be able to connect to various PCs with different keys used in conjunction with the MSRC4Plugin-122. With the old plugin, I used to be able to specify the name of the key that I wanted to use, so I used to have different names for my different keys. The new one insists on using rc4. So, the ...

SC for VISTA for DUMMIES
I am not really much of an IT support guy but some time ago I spent a good deal of time working out how to create a customised Single Click file. The instructions are much better now. I have been using it to help people involved in a family history project. We are all volunteers and they are not ...

Re: Cannot VNC to anything outside of my LAN. HELP!!!
I have had a look in the Event Viewer in the System folder. I don't really know what I am looking for so I have copied a selection of the error messages that I found, in the hope that you might cast some further light on things. The first one looks suspicious to me. Event ID 7000 The General Purpose ...

Re: Cannot VNC to anything outside of my LAN. HELP!!!
Let me just emphasize that I have no problem surfing the internet and emailing. It is only with UltraVNC.
I only have UltraVNC 1.0.1 installed.

Re: Cannot VNC to anything outside of my LAN. HELP!!!
Yes, loopback works. I have now discovered that I can make it work by uninstalling and reinstalling the USB modem. Everything works for about a day. Then it stops. If I uninstall and reinstall then it works again. This happens with two different modems. It is as if some piece of software is stopping ...

Cannot VNC to anything outside of my LAN. HELP!!!
For some reason I can no longer use VNC. I first noticed it when someone could not connect to my computer using Single Click. Then I tried using VNCViewer to connect to a network that I support. Nothing! The Connecting box just stays in the top left corner. I can connect to my wife's computer on the ...

Cannot click on system tray icon on remote PC
I am trying to set up a PC so that users can connect to it from home using UltraVNC (1-0-1). That's not a problem but there is a very strange difficulty. There is a piece of software installed, called Adviser Office Taskbar. When you launch it, it places an icon in the system tray. When you click on ...

Can UltraVNC viewer fit on a floppy disk?
Someone wants to be able to connect to their work PC. I can set up the vnc server with a plugin and maybe even a unique key. However, I want to know if the viewer etc will fit onto a floppy disk. Which files need to be included on the disk that I give to the user, so that they can run vnc from the ...

I can't see what the VNC server user is doing with the mouse
When I connect using UltraVNC viewer to someone's PC to give them support, they often want to point to things on the screen with the mouse. I can't see that. I can only see movements initiated by me. In the viewer options you have three choices. I use the default, which is "Track remote cursor ...

Pathnames
I struggled with the pathnames. It still didn't like the name of the path to the plugin. However, this has been resolved with the following batch file:
c:
cd \Program Files\UltraVNC
vncviewer -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin.dsm -listen 5500
That works fine.

MSCR4Plugin_noreg.dsm
I hadn't noticed the fact that the Helpdesk.txt had this line in it: -plugin -connect 192.168.1.102:5500 -noregistry Is that telling it to use the MSRC4Plugin_noreg.dsm plugin when it compiles the executable file? I had been using MSRC4Plugin.dsm with my vncviewer and it still worked. Why is that ...

What is the purpose of the command line entries? I just ran Ultra VNC viewer in listening mode but I don't think I can tell it to use a dsmplugin, or at least whenever I double click on the icon, I find that it is unticked. As you can see, I have been experimenting on our LAN at home. I have no real desire to have the option of having both kinds of connection available (with and without encryption). The error message
Connection failed - Invalid protocol!
Possible Causes:
- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible (they use different RFB protocoles)
