Use the products in my signature line. They work great. This is not an SC solution, but it's workable. As far as the Web browser/Java thingy, it works too. All I had to do was start up FireFox 1.5 for Mac OS X (on Tiger 10.4.3), type in the correct URL and port number, click "yes" to download the ...

Macs are not "rapidly being replaced by Windows XP boxes" across the board. Sales of Macintosh computers have been steadily increasing for the last two years. The number of Mac users in the world is growing measureably. It's not just about percentage of market share. It's about the total number of ...

Let us not forget that next year the Mac OS X platform is moving to Intel CPUs.

Maybe UltraVNC can add support for Mac OS X on Intel and forego backward-compatibility with Mac OS X on IBM PowerPC G4 and G5.

Let us please take note of the fact that the Mac OS X platform is moving to Intel processors exclusively. We're talking Intel's next generation, post-Pentium. You can lease a Mac OS X on Intel developer box from Apple right now, although obviously it costs money. The first commercial Mac OS X Intel ...

Apple Rendezvous is now called Apple Bonjour, by the way.

There is a free Apple client for Bonjour that runs on Windows XP, but I honestly don't know what it is good for.

On the Mac side, try the programs I list below in my signature. OSXvnc is a server that has done some work to try to handle alternate keyboard layouts. I use the US English Dvorak layout on my Mac and have no problems when I connect to an XP machine running ultraVNC. If you are connecting and ...

The listener you need is OSXvnc 1.6.1.

Nobody has developed an integrated VNC client and server for Mac OS X. So I use OSXvnc and Chicken of the VNC together to access Windows XP machines running ultraVNC. Works fine.

I don't know of any VNC software for Mac OS 9. HOWEVER you can use the commercial program Timbuktu. You'll need to purchase a copy for Windows XP and a copy for Mac OS 9, at US$100 each. This is an expensive solution, but believe me, it works great. http://www.netopia.com/software/products/tb2 ...

Try the Mac OS X programs in my signature.

OSXvnc is a server, and Chicken of the VNC (CotVNC for short) is a client.

Nobody has yet made a single freeware product that is both client and server for Mac OS X.

I've never used the repeater function. The two programs mentioned below in my signature are the most recent freeware VNC programs for Mac OS X. You should give them a try.

Mac client and server

On my Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger computer, I use the free OSXvnc 1.6.1 as a server and the free Chicken of the VNC 2.1b3 as a client. I can connect to UltraVNC just fine, but I can't use the bells and whistles like file transfer and chat. File transfer is no problem, really, since Mac OS X can use SAMBA to ...

Google Earth

I know there's a technical term and explanation for this. Google Earth uses a method to paint video on the screen that the VNC protocol seems unable to display correctly. Is it possible to find a workaround or is it possible or likely that VNC will support displaying this kind of video in the future ...
