Update: I am able to browse my CD drive just fine, and I am using the most updated version from the link posted in this thread.

Why would it be able to read from the CD drive just fine, but not the harddrives? Again, no problems when using loopback connection

setting up seperate ports would be easiest wouldn't ya think? Then you wouldn't have to worry about setting up the repeater, or about keeping the repeater running 24/7. What is the downside to using seperate ports?

If I use the viewer on my desktop I can do file transfer with other computers no problem. Why would the Ultravnc Server on my computer have trouble accessing my harddrive, but the Ultravnc Viewer on the same computer doesn't?

Anybody have ANYTHING I can try?

Yes I have tried all versions, including the version you just linked to. They all always freeze. :(

I did notice though, as I was testing the new version you linked to, it DID work when I did a loopback connection to myself. The program only froze when other computers try to connect to it...

File transfer freezes program

File Transfer used to work for me, but it hasn't been for the past few months. I have tried the stable version of the software, and the developmental version, I don't think its UltraVNC's fault, I think its my hardware setup, or a problem with my Windows. I recently upgraded my motherboard and got a ...

None of your new plugins, beta or non-beta, are unzippable with the included unzipper in Windows XP. I don't want to download WinZip, though it'll probably work there. "File skipped unknown compression method" Just wanted to give you a heads up. Hopefully you can revert back to the way you did it in ...

I have one main question about this plugin. Since it is dependent on looking at the password that the user puts in, does this mean that the password is not 128-bit encrypted? How can it be 128-bit encrypted if the viewer isn't using a key yet? What makes this only for the "EXTREMELY adventurous ...

Safer to use UltraNC + MS RC4 Plugin vs. unsecured wireless?

I'm am currently connected through an unsecured wireless connection at my school. I'm also connected to my main computer though Ultravnc + the encryption plugin which seems pretty safe to me. Wouldn't it be safer to use the internet through UltraVNC on my main computer? This way all of the data sent ...

Cannot connect to friend's computer, stopped working

I don't know what was changed. All I needed to do before was http://<ipaddress>:5800 and I would connect, but now it isn't working. I cannot ping the ip address or telnet to the port. When I'm on that computer I can still connect to MY VNC server on this computer. What can I do? Edit: Something else ...

Well if he installed the server on your desktop, then you can set/change the password required to join. Right click on the icon on the bottom right of the screen and change the password. This way he won't be able to connect without asking you for permission and having you give him the password.

Yea I know how to move windows onto my display using the taskbar, the problem is my taskbar isn't on my primary display! My primary display is my TV. Multi-Monitor (Dual-Display) support?

I currently have a 2 monitor setup on my home computer. Ultra VNC only sees the primary screen, while RealVNC correctly scrolls between the two monitor screens.

Is there a way to use Ultra VNC with a multi-monitor setup? If so please help me out!

Please PLEASE add the Multi-Monitor feature! It is the only thing making me want to use RealVNC over UltraVNC! My home computer is multi monitor and its very hard to navigate with UltraVNC!
