Tried to run the thing as a service with only the x64 files. It crashes but I'm still able to move the mouse on the remote machine through the established connection, but get no picture and cannot reconnect.
Have gathered some debug files.

Rudi De Vos wrote:If you started the winvnc 64bit manual in a RDP session, it is running in

This could explain alot. Will see if I can get it running in service mode..

Hmm.. It seems to work, but VERY slow. It seems to crash if you install the 32-bit first and overwrite with the x64 files. If the 32-bit is installed you have to clean everything out of the registry or else the server will crash upon connection. Edit: It's alot strange than that... It still crashes ...

Currently the Opteron 1xx series is actually cheaper than the athlon64 series. Either way you'll end up with a good machine. I guess the price heavily depends on where you are on earth *g* However, an Opteron system with e.g. 2 dualcore Opterons (hope the series you mentioned has this ability ...

I run it with the 32-bit version (the only version they distribute).
I don't have a copy of MSVC and I don't suppose it compiles under mingw...

BTW, just the Itanium has a different compiler. The new P4s with 64 bit extensions run the same code as the Athlon64.. Itanium doesn't even work on x64, it needs an IA64(which Itanium uses) build. I would also be VERY interested in a 64-bit (x64) driver. We use UltraVNC alot for our maya rendering farm and are moving to x64 on the windows platform. Remote Desktop is out of the question since maya won't render when logged in as a remote desktop user.
